The Lesser Pierrot, Taraka mahanetra (Doherty)

Small white butterfly with uneven dark greyish brown markings. Feeble in flight, more so then T. hamada. Rare and confined to hills.

The Malayan Jezebel, Delias ninus ninus (Wallace)

Locally common in hill stations where they usually keep to a lofty height, resting on ferns and open spaces in between short flights. Both sexes come to flowers at lower heights in the first morning light.

They ressemble D. pasithoe on the undersides but its uppersides have a red basal area on the HW whilst those of D. pasithoe is only yellow. Above photos 12 June 2015 @ 11:10
