The Peablue, Lampides boeticus (L.)

This is a locally common insect of the roadside and wastelands besides plantations where its host plant Crotalaria grows.

Above 2 photos from an elevation above 6500 feet: 14 Dec 2014@11:35. The insect was decidedly much larger and more defined in colour.

 The ovum is disc-shaped with pits much in the general manner of Polyommatinae, laid on the stem of Crotolaria juncea nearing flowering structures.
