The Banded Yeoman, Cirrochroa orissa orissa (C. & R. Felder)

Though said to be the commonest of Cirrochroa, it seems elusive and are less common than C. malaya. It can usually be observed at the edge of the forest on a sunny spot or sometimes on rocky outcrops. Seasonal in occurences.

From afar, it ressembles Cupha erymanthis (the Rustic). It can be easily separated from the other of the genus by the presence of the broad yellow post-discal band bordered by a black apical edge on the forewings. Above all photos 17 Jan 2014 @13:17
