The Ancyra Blue, Catopyrops ancyra aberrans (Elwes)

This was a surprise find among the hordes of blues and hairstreaks that began puddling activities since March. It was almost overlooked until a check found that it is distinctively different from C. pandava which frequents very much the same localities. It was surprisingly common in the usual localities and I have not paid much attention to it till now....from afar, it ressembles a miniature version of the Silver Forget-Me-Not, Catochrysops panormus.

The female has the same underside markings like the male but the uppersides ressemble that of C. panormus female.
