The Black Rajah, Charaxes solon echo (Butler)

From afar, this looks like a small version of Polyura schreiber. It is an insect of the forest and males will come to moist spots the later part of the afternoon. Localised in distribution and is a great rarity in lowland dipterocarp forest.
