This is a very distinctive skipper - under flash, the ruby-red eyes shines and the head and thorax are covered with shiny green scales and hair. The wings are plain grey-brown and in the shades, appear to be very dark, almost black. The HW tornal area is fringed with light orange cilia. This is an insect of the dark understorey.
