Graphium chironides malayanum (Eliot)

There are two very similar species under the same generic name of Veined Jay but one being G. chironides and the other G. bathycles.

Graphium chironides malayanum (Eliot) does not have a red spot on the coastal area of the hindwings but has a black bar that run through the vein 6. Notice that the red spots are replaced by faint orange spots that are narrower. Generally much scarcer in distribution than the other Graphiums and restricted to forested areas. Seasonal.
