The Red Lacewing, Cethosia biblis perakana (Fruhstorfer)

This is perhaps the most beautiful of the Malay Lacewings, differing from the other two Malayan species with its more intricate markings on the uppersides and undersides. It also has a beautiful orange-red hued uppersides with an equally delicate spotting of the broad submarginal and apical areas. December-January seems to be the active months for this species, even for records earlier taken in 2009. They frequent the same localities like the other two Lacewings though it is commoner in the hills.
