The White-dotted Oakblue, Arhopala democritus lycaenaria (C & R Felder)

This is a medium-sized Arhopala: the undersides are quite distinctive in the fact that its markings on the FW  are broken lines. Locally common where it occurs, found in the shades of forested streams.

The ssp. democritus (Fabricius, 1793) is distinctive i that the undersides are dark brown with a purple flush and the dots whitish (hence its namesake). This taxon is confined to the north of the Peninsular in the states of Kedah and Perlis.
