The Blue Gem, Poritia erycinoides phraatica (Hewitson)

This is a hill species that inhabits open spaces in the wilderness and are often seen in the earlier part of the morning flying very swiftly around bushes with sunny exposures.

25 May 2014 @ 12:39: this female was sunning itself on a low tree by a jungle stream @ 250M. It was recognisable by its orange striae on black wings visible in flight.
