This tiny common butterfly is often overlooked amongst the mass of puddling butterflies, especially among the "Blues". There are a number of Hedge Blues ressembling one another and this species is identifiable by the rather paler blue uppersides of the male than others of the same genus. Locally common, especially in forested areas. They seem to be commoner in the hills.

A small puddling group: 15 March 2014 @ 11: 30. As many different species have almost idebtical markings on their undersides, it is almost impossible to ID any with just a photo...
A truck zoomed past the jungle path and some newly eclosed butterflies were too slow to react, resulting in some casualties on the sand banks...
