The Chocolate Soldier, Junonia iphita horsfieldi (Moore)

This is a common insect of the open country and the forest's edge and wasteland, often seen on Lantana bushes. This is one of the larger Junonia species. Since 2014, it has become scarcer and its habitats are being progressively colonized by J. hedonia which is fast becoming the dominant species.
