The Banded Marquis, Bassarona teuta goodrichi

Rare localised species of the lowland forest. Very skittish insect and are usually seen attracted to rotting fruits on the forest floor. Males sometimes come down to moist spots on sunny late mornings along forest paths.

The Great Marquis, Bassarona dunya dunya (Doubleday)

Large and drably coloured butterfly almost the size of a rounded Lexias, It is a rare insect of the hilly lowland forest. Usually lofty but has a fondness for rotting fruits. It has basically the same habits of the Archduke but rarer.
