The Caudate Awl King, Choaspes subcaudatus crawfurdi (Distant)

This is a rare skipper and I have only encountered it twice in different locations. It is large, the size and look of a Hasora but it has a beautiful bluish bronze-green underside with a striking orange tornus marked with black.

 The black uppersides with green scales visible in flight...

The beautiful tail contrasting with the rest of the wings. In flight, it is the orange of the tail that is visible, giving it a much smaller impression than the real insect.
