The Green Baron, Euthalia ardonia pinwilli (Pendlebury & Corbet)

This is an uncommon butterfly of the forest that can be seen puddling on moist spots along the jungle trail the later part of the morning.

The White-headed Batwing, Atrophaneura sycorax egertoni (Distant)

This is a distinctive Batwing, having a creamy white head and yellow abdomen which is instantly recognisable even in flight. The female are rather large, almost the size of a female Troides and are sometimes seen visiting flowering bushes later in the afternoon. They usually fly at a certain height around the understorey of forests and never puddle. All species of Atrophaneura display seasonal fluctuation in abundance and are sometimes missing from their usual localities for a long period before reappearing again in abundance.
