The Extra Lascar, Pantoporia sandaka sandaka (Butler)

This and a range of similar looking Lasippa butterflies are quite difficult to tell apart if not for the possibility of images of its undersides as the uppersides almost ressemble one another...These are not uncommon butterflies on a jungle trail and should always be photographed even though they might look similar but close observations would often indicate different species...

The Knight, Lebadea martha malayana (Fruhstorfer)

This medium-sized nymphalid has a rather recognisable form as its forewing tips are rather long and pointed outward, resembling a much more marked Commander or a slim female Horsfield's Baron. It is an insect of the deep shades and can be frequently seen sunning itself in mid mornings and afternoons among the sun-speckled mid canopy of the forest.
