From afar ressembles very much Pyroneura perakana because of the reddish brown colour of the veins and its larger size but closer observations will differentiate it from P. perkana:
1. On the hindwing undersides the brown areas are twice wider than the reddish orange veins and
2. the forelegs are clothed in long primrose coloured hair (see pix below)
