The Common Nawab, Polyura athamas athamas (Drury)

This is the commonest Nawab to be found in a forested area and can be seen attracted to carrion and dung as well as sandbanks contaminated with animal urine. It has beautifully marked metallic undersides in contrast to a median band of pale green marking which is reflected on its black uppersides.
