The Malay Yeoman, Cirrochoa malaya malaya (C. & R. Felder)

The Yeomans are butterflies that frequents moist spots in a forested stream bank but mostly have an affinity to concret or cement boulders as the following photos demonstrate. On the HW underside, the white post-discal band (the line that runs through the mid section of the wings) is not constricted on space 5 and 6 (see pix below).

Cirrochoa emalea emalea (Guérin-Méneville), found on an old concret boulder on the roadside 25 March 2013 @ 14:14.


A dry season female from 03 August 2013 @ 10:52. It was found puddling on a mossy granite boulder (C. malaya).
